Approximately 40 people attended the 2021 Calix Retreat held at the Dunrovin Retreat House in Marine on St. Croix, MN. Marine on St. Croix is on the banks of the St. Croix River that separates Minnesota and Wisconsin. The setting was beautiful and ideal for a retreat group of this size.

Friday evening started with Mass offered by Fr. McKay and concelebrated by Fr. Lajoie. Fr McKay gave the homily on this feast of the the Transfiguration. You can download the homily here.

After Mass we enjoyed a fish dinner together. Following dinner we had our Introductions and first presentation on the Beatitudes. This was followed by a talk by Fr. Roland Lajoie. After Father’s talk we had the second Beatitudes presentation and then capped off the evening with the first talk by speaker Michael Donnelly. Talk is split into Part 1 and Part 2.

On Saturday morning we had Mass offered by Fr. Lajoie and concelebrated by Fr. McKay who did the homily. Unfortunately we had technical difficulties with Michael’s second talk. We do have his third talk from Saturday evening, split into Part 1 and Part 2.

On Sunday we again had Mass celebrated Fr. Lojie and concelebrated by Fr. McKay. Fr. Lajoie did the homily. Following Mass we had the last talk on Beatitudes and then a talk by Fr. McKay on the Rosary, split into Part 1 and Part 2.

During the business meeting on Saturday afternoon the two nominees put forth by the nominating committee, Cyndy P. for president and Sheila D. for vice-president, were affirmed.

Overall it was a terrific weekend and again we’d like to thank our hosts, the St. Paul unit, for all of their efforts to put on a great retreat. Hope to see you August 5-7, 2022 in Washington, DC.
